You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

20. i'll be 21 inless than a month, december 29th. i can't wait to legally drink alcohol! (not like i haven't been drinking for the past 3 years anyway haha. it just sucks because pretty much all of my friends are 21+ now and it's sad to not be able to drink when we go out.)

at school in west hartford, ct. i live in ansonia, ct the rest of the time.

4. Occupation:
student i guess...i also tutor 7th graders here at school, and when i'm home, i work at a preschool. it's a crazy job but i love it.

5. Partner:
nobody right now. i can't be in a serious relationship right now...i'm too busy and i can't do the emotional investment D: so i'm just having fun, you know.

7. Brothers/Sisters:
one brother, cameron. he's 19 and we go to the same college, and it's awesome.

two cats, linus and rigby. they're crazy and adorable.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
mass amounts of schoolwork, keeping my grades up (i have all As and Bs so far this semester :D), thinking about graduate school (i want to get my master's in early childhood or elementary education), and trying to have a fun social life. i'm succeeding in all areas, i think haha.

10. Parents:
ralph and patti. i get along well with them most of the time and i love them dearly.

11. Who are some of your closest friends:
-lauren (laestar87), who i've known since elementary school. we are completely insane together, and we have AIM conversations that last for days, and watch random youtube videos, and go driving aimlessly and laugh about the most random things. it's lots of fun.

-bill (willbuddy). he was my first boyfriend ever, my senior year of high school, and even though we broke up we're still the best of friends :) he goes to school down at auburn, so we don't see each other much anymore, but he's a great person. he's always there for me when i need him, and he comes up with the most awesomely random things to say. love him!

-rob. he's also my ex - we were together from april 08 to june of this year when we broke up - but we're still also good friends. i've seen him like once a week this whole semester as he's really busy working and taking like 7 classes and teaching and tutoring. when we do hang out it's great though. we're so comfortable around each other and i feel like i can tell him anything. plus, he's crazy and random. notice a pattern with all of my friends in that area? haha.

sometimes i miss him so much i feel sick to my stomach...



i just want this to stop.

i'm back at school. i'm so happy to be here. my apartment is super nice, and having my own room FTW. i'll post pics at some point. :3


so rob and i hung out tonight for like 5 hours. and everything that i worried about all summer pretty much doesn't matter. we're best friends...(with benefits :p) and we've been best friends for a while now. he wants to be close with me. he still cares about me as i do him. who cares if we're not in an "official" relationship?

nothing has changed and i couldn't be happier. =)


i have to wake up at 7 to go to a training session for howie's helpers at 8:30 in which i will learn...everything that i already know from the past two years of helping freshies move in. YEAH AWESOME

i'm just crossing my fingers that i'm doing my usual amount of overthinking things, which means that things will be a lot better than i expect them to be when i go back. no, they won't be the same as they used to be - but they won't be bad. we'll be happy. we'll make things happen.

23 days until i go back to uha! i can't believe it's august already...this summer has flown by without me even realizing it.

my last day of work for the summer is going to be next friday, the 14th. i think i'll actually be sad about it. i'm going to miss the kids going to kindergarten, some of whom i've seen grow up for three summers now. it's weird.

but it's going to be a good school year. i will make it so. social life ahoy! i hope. :D

i need to buy a new digital camera. i can't live with the broken screen on mine anymore.

i also need a new phone. my battery barely holds a charge anymore and the keys are dying. my family's 2 year contract is up this month so we can get new ones before i go back to school :D i'm still eying the samsung propel because it looks cool. and i want a qwerty keyboard so i can update my twitter even more easily with random crap :D :D


i'm doing my best to stay happy. life is pretty okay. i hope you all are, too.

i faillll at updating. but this is almost the same as last summer, minus seeing rob every 2 weeks.

i wake up around 7, go to work at 8 or 8:30, and play with preschoolers all morning. i take a one hour lunch break with my mom (usually), and play with preschoolers some more. i come home at 5 and either eat dinner with the family, or take a nap and eat dinner later on. i sit around on the computer until 11 or 12, when i go to sleep. on the weekends, i do almost nothing. lather, rinse, repeat.

as you can see, i have NOTHING to update about.

i've been doing well, though. i'm happy. rob and i are still talking online when he's not busy, and he's given me hope for the future. i know that whether we get back together or not, we'll still be friends. that's the best thing i could ask for =)

and i hung out with bill on monday for the first time in almost a year :] we went out to eat and walked on the beach. it was fun. i hope i can see him again before he has to go back to alabama.

40 days until i go back to school!! my goodness. i have no idea where this summer went. not that i mind...i'm always looking forward to getting back to my home. <3

so i kinda forgot to post about this at all but i'm going to grand rapids, michigan from tomorrow to next wednesday!!

it's for church stuff, haha...general synod, which i went to in 2007 when it was held in hartford. these are my pictures from it...i had a lot of fun!

it's basically a big church meeting with people from all over the country...there's a lot of boring stuff and voting and things i have to go to, which sucks...but i'll be with a bunch of people my own age and i know a couple of them already from silver lake. and there will be some fun stuff on saturday in the city, and i'm sure i'll find ways to enjoy myself. i'm excited! :D

i get to take two planes tomorrow. hartford to cleveland, then cleveland to grand rapids. eek. the flights aren't long - an hour and 15 minutes to ohio, then 30 minutes to grand rapids. i'm nervous but excited, you know. i'll be fine once i get in the air haha.

so yeah!! i will try and update from grand rapids, if possible. most all of you guys are following me on twitter already (@allegra0) which i'm sure i'll be using a lot. have a good week you guys! <3

i'm seeing rob in less than 24 hours. SO STOKED :D i'm gonna dress up all cute (in a skirt!) and meet up with him and his mommy in NYC and we're seeing the new york philharmonic at lincoln center, and then i'm spending the night at his house. i can't wait =)

so i survived my first week of preschool! nothing major happened and my days were surprisingly easy. i really, really love kids and the idea of going for my master's in early childhood education sounds better every day. who knows where things will progress to...but i really believe that working with children in some capacity is what i am meant for.

i'm happy lately! and i hope you're all doing well, too. :D

i got my job back! yayyy. it's not like i was expecting not to, because everyone i work with absolutely loves me, but it feels good to have it set in stone. i'll be working monday through friday, 8:30 to 5. that's an extra half hour than i did last summer, which means that i can take either an hour or a half hour for lunch every day :D pretty exciting. i can't wait to see all of my chilluns again! well, the ones that behave, anyway -_-

i'm actually going in today to cover lunch breaks for people from 12:30 to 2:30...and i'm actually looking forward to it haha. i shouldn't have to do anything with the kids, since it's during their naptime. hopefully this will get me back into the swing of things so i'm not completely lost on monday morning.

it's so cold and gross out. :( it's misty and foggy and not even 60 degrees. i've had to use so many blankets when i go to bed that it feels like i'm home for the winter and not the summer.

that's about all...9 days until rob :)

so i'm home. i've been here since last sunday. i miss rob, and i miss school, but i'm rather enjoying not having anything to do, though i'm sure that will change in the next few days.

i called work yesterday and left a message with one of my bosses, but she was in a meeting and didn't get back to me. i don't really mind - more time to relax! but i'll call again on tuesday and hopefully start working next week.

working at commencement last sunday was pretty sad. seeing all of my friends who graduated and realizing that i'm now a senior in college...i was on the verge of tears all day. :( i worked in the information tent with a girl i've had a few classes with, melanie, and we got to hand out programs and direct people, including many graduates. the ceremony started at 10:30, and at 10:45 we were still getting students asking where they could get their cap and gown D: the day was made worse by the fact that it was like 40 degrees and windy and everyone was freezing their butts off.

it's so unreal that i'm a senior. it seems like it was just yesterday that i was finishing my senior year of high school, going to orientation and getting amped up for college...and now it's almost over. WTF GUYS :'( yeah i know i still have a whole year left, and i'm probably going to grad school after i'm done, but still. ughhh my lifeeee :(

though, on a happier note, i got a 3.53 GPA this semester, and i now have a 3.05 overall. :D :D it's amazing how much i've changed as a person in the last year - i can't believe it myself. it really makes me feel good to know that i've come a long way, and i'm sure that it's not going to stop :)

formal was fun! then afterward some shit went down with rob and me. but it got better shortly thereafter and now i'm as happy as i was last night. :)

rob and i sat with two of his roommates and their dates, and there was much dancing and jumping around, as well as eating, talking, and laughing, plus rob's raving skillz (hah). the brothers gave out superlatives, naming rob "most likely to teach diff eq by day and take ecstasy by night." it was the most fun i've had in a while. i can't wait for next year. :D


time to nap. it's been a crazy weekend. maybe i'll post about STN later? we'll see.

maybe some people wouldn't call this old school, but i'm obsessed with nintendo 64 games. super mario 64 and mario kart 64 were integral parts of my childhood! and i still love and play them today. in fact, i'm going to open up project 64 after i post and play some mario kart :D


i had nothing whatsoever to do today, and it felt wonderful.

i'm excited for this weekend. tomorrow during the day is STN's show in a day, where, as the name suggests, we put together our newscast in one day instead of over the course of a week. all of the writing, shooting, and editing in less than 12 hours...it's a lot of work and a lot of fun. tomorrow is also community day on campus, where my school hosts all of these events and fun things for people in the surrounding towns. we do show in a day on this day specifically since there's a lot going on on campus, haha. one event they're having tomorrow is tethered hot air balloon rides, and i really want to go in one O_O we should do a story on it haha. we'll see what happens. it's always good fun though.

then tomorrow night is the phi mu alpha (which rob is in)/sigma alpha iota formal! i'm so excited...this year will be so much more fun because rob and i are actually a couple, and i actually want to dance with him :P and i know a lot more people in both pma and sai, and all of his roommates who i love are also brothers and will be there, and it's just going to be good times. plus i get to get all pretty in a dress again :D the same one as last year, which isn't a problem because there's only one picture of me in it from last year...nobody will ever know!! haha.

i'll definitely post pictures of rob and me all dressed up. can you guys believe that we've been together for almost a year?! next wednesday, the 22nd, is our anniversary. simply amazing. <3

my classes today were pretty awesome. my hartford history class is going to be amazing omggg. the president of my university co-teaches it and he's basically the shit. my vietnam war class...well we'll see. my class with goldstein last semester was kind of a disaster, but i have hope for this one. plus, i know next to nothing about this war. so, yeah.

so now i have no classes or anything until monday at 5 pm. my schedule is awesome. :p

i'm back at school yay. i was kind of depressed the last couple of days but now i'm feeling better.

i love rob's apartment now that his old douchebag roommate is gone...his new roomie, ted, who moved into rob's room from across the hall, is so awesome and i love him to death. matt and brian too! i think it's going to be a good semester.

i stayed up until 3 am playing mario kart wii online multiplayer because i couldn't sleep. i swear i am not addicted to it......

yesterday was exciting! i'd never watched an inauguration before (or if i had, i was too young to remember it/care). this quote on the bbc website's coverage of it pretty much sums up how i feel:

i got my hair cut yesterday. it's about the same length that i had it over the summer, and i really like it.

my cell phone's battery is definitely on its way out. i charged it to full last night, and just from having it idle next to me all night (as i always do, because i use my phone for an alarm), it lost like half of its charge. laaaame.

my brother mentioned something about him being eligible for a phone upgrade at the end of january...i'm not sure why, since our 2-year plan won't be up until august. but if he's eligible, and i am too by association, i really, really like the looks of the samsung propel.



it slides out to a full keyboard, which is awesome because i text a lot. i fiddled around with it at an at&t store and i really liked the way it felt and acted. and it's pretty! the color is one of the big reasons i like it so much haha :( i really hope i can upgrade to that! i mean, as long as i don't have to pay $279.99 for it :| IDK, WE SHALL SEE.
